The Senate had already opposed this measure during consideration of the PLFSS for 2026. Nine amendments to delete the article have around forty signatories, sitting on the right, in the center, among the Independents, in the RDSE or in the UNT group. The Greens will table an amendment granting anticipatory retirement leave for people who have reached age 62 and 42 contribution years.
The Senate is preparing to examine the Social Security financing bill (PLFSS) for 2027 from November 9 to 17, excluding November 11 and likely November 15. More than 1,200 amendments have been tabled.
The debates will be particularly closely watched: the National Assembly was unable to examine the text in full. The rejection of the revenue section in October led to the rejection of the bill as a whole and prevented examination of the expenditure section.
The social affairs committee will propose restoring the 2023 pension reform, which was suspended last year. Recalling that the financial situation of the old-age branch remains “fragile,” rapporteur Marie-Do Aeschlimann also wants to remove the possibility given to the executive to proceed by decree in 2027 with a larger revaluation of pensions, or even a cancellation of the freeze.
The Socialists will try to extend forfait social contributions to sums paid as profit-sharing and value-sharing bonuses in companies with at least 50 employees. The Greens and the Communists want to subject value-sharing bonuses to the social security contribution base.
