On Saturday 17 October, which had descended into chaos with numerous looting incidents, damage and violence in several cities, 60,000 police officers and gendarmes were on the ground. This security deployment, maintained in volume and operational doctrine, has applied to all days of social mobilization since 24 October.
Two days after an intense day of mobilization, law enforcement is preparing for another Saturday of social unrest across France.
The demonstrations are being organized by trade unions and youth organizations as well as the Yellow Vests.
On Thursday 5 November, the unions had claimed a turnout of more than 1.5 million people.
The gendarmerie's 25 Centaure armored vehicles will be deployed, along with 15 water cannon vehicles, drones and helicopters.
"The risk of wild processions and blockades (public buildings, road or rail routes…) is increased for 7 November,"Mr. Nuñez said.
On the same day, 642 people were arrested during the demonstrations across the country, according to the minister.
