Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu assures in a letter addressed to the mayor of Limoges, of which France Info and France Inter were able to read on Sunday October 18, that the town hall will be rebuilt.

The town hall of Limoges was set on fire on the sidelines of the demonstration on October 17.

The head of government indicates in his letter that the State will mobilize insurers so that compensation is provided as quickly as possible and will provide direct budgetary support for reconstruction.

He adds that those who wanted to destroy this place must know that the Republic will keep its commitments to the inhabitants and that it will restore what they burned.

The mayor of Limoges had expressed his emotion mixed with anger at the fire which destroyed the town hall, declaring that it is a monument which is burning, but it is not the Republic.
