The Paris police headquarters announced that the demonstration was now completely dispersed. The Porte de Vincennes has emptied, traffic has resumed and the situation is calm at the place where the procession ended the demonstration at the end of the afternoon.

During the procession, these individuals broke away and sought to commit abuses and attack the internal security forces. The minister underlined the degree of aggressiveness that the police had to face.

Laurent Nuñez declared on Saturday October 24 during an assessment of the day of mobilization that “the processions went well”. The Minister of the Interior made this observation following demonstrations which brought together between 410,000 and 800,000 people throughout France, according to figures from the police and the CGT.

The minister notably mentioned the presence of"500 thugs"in Paris."As we had anticipated, we had several formations of risk groups (...) which intervened according to a classic pattern", he added. In Paris, the police counted 110,000 people in the procession, compared to 250,000 for the central union. Around a thousand people were arrested according to a report broadcast at 7:30 p.m.

“I cannot let it be said that the police repressed the movement,” said Laurent Nuñez. “Without the police, there would have been no procession,” he stressed several times.
