The 92nd brigade of the Ukrainian army evacuated Kostiantyn, a 49-year-old fighter injured in the legs and isolated for several days in the middle of a combat zone, using a heavy drone.
With a suitable and sufficiently powerful aerial drone, the transport of a casualty can then be carried out in a few minutes, although such an evacuation could take two to three hours.
The equipment necessary for the evacuation, as well as its instructions for use, were first transported to the soldier by a first drone.
Until now, and for more than a year, the Ukrainian army has been using ground robots to transport the wounded from the battlefield.
After being extracted from the combat zone, Kostiantyn was transported to Kharkiv hospital.
The Ukrainian army broadcast images of this operation carried out using a hexacopter-type device, capable of carrying a load of 130 kilos.
