While the actions of high school students in large cities are widely reported, students in rural areas express specific demands.
In Saint-Girons, a sub-prefecture of Ariège located in a mountain area and an hour and a half drive from Toulouse, students from the three high schools denounce the material conditions, the pace and the disinterest of the institutions, feeling excluded from the system.
“We are very remote, we are in deep Ariège,” regrets one of the students. Timéo, a second-year student, reports a hellish school pace due to the transportation needed to get to high school.
