Several communes in the Ain have seen huge copper cauldrons used as decoration disappear, often installed on squares or roundabouts.
The same night, not far from there, in Poncin (Ain), another cauldron was stolen.
The scene was filmed by a camera. The perpetrators first emptied the cauldron.
After copper cable thefts, the criminals are now targeting these cauldrons.
This is not the first time decorative copper cauldrons have been targeted.
One of them stood at the entrance to a town. It symbolized local craftsmanship.
They then tipped it over, then loaded it into a van.
These pieces weigh about 150 kilos. The damage is estimated at 1,500 euros per cauldron.
