To avoid these new incidents, Laurent Nuñez announced the mobilization of gendarmes in the police zone, as well as services usually assigned to other missions and even student police officers in training.
Certain civil servants and soldiers on leave were also recalled to reinforce these numbers, the distribution of which over the territory was not detailed.
Their role will consist in particular of ensuring the protection of public buildings and freeing up police personnel for law enforcement operations.
To these resources will be added around twenty Centaur armored vehicles and around fifteen water cannons spread across the territory.
The prefects were also responsible for examining the risks linked to each gathering, whether declared or not.
However, they will not be responsible for maintaining order in contact with demonstrators, clarified Laurent Nuñez.
Prohibitory orders may thus be issued when the authorities consider that the security conditions are not met.
