The airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, was repeatedly targeted by the Houthis over the weekend. After these strikes this week, Saudi Arabia is struggling to protect its strategic infrastructure and is demanding support from Washington, while being reluctant to recognize that it is struggling to protect itself from these attacks.
The Saudis do not have enough missiles to defend the airport and create an impermeable dome over a country that is four times the size of France, or 2.2 million square kilometers and numerous strategic infrastructures to protect, such as an oil pipeline that crosses the country, or even places that attract crowds like Mecca.
The situation is getting worse with the Houthis in Yemen, especially since with the Strait of Hormuz threatened by Iran, the other sea route for world oil, Bab-el-Mandeb, could be blocked, which would further skyrocket prices.
