The total of planes affected this morning reached 15, after earlier reports put the number at least at 12. Two further threats were reported against aircraft flying to Milan’s Malpensa airport.

Finnair confirmed two of its aircraft were affected on Thursday. Italian fighter jets escorted a Finnair flight from Helsinki to Rome, where it landed as scheduled.

Fifteen flights across Europe received bomb threats on Thursday, with some forced to divert, in a second wave of incidents this week.

No explosives were found on four planes that had received bomb threats before landing in Prague, Czech police confirmed.

Wizz Air was among carriers targeted. Other airlines also faced threats that led to diversions and security checks.

“Unfortunately, air traffic is sometimes subject to threats, as we have seen this week, when also other airlines in Europe have faced hoax bomb threats,” one carrier said. “Both flights have landed safely at their destinations, and customers have disembarked the aircraft,” Finnair said, adding that “a clear process” was in place to inspect all reported threats.

An Aer Lingus flight landed safely. “The flight landed safely and Aer Lingus will work to reaccommodate customers to their final destination as soon as possible,” the airline said. All three planes that landed at Bulgarian airports after bomb threats were cleared by authorities, with no threat confirmed, the transport ministry said.
