The Directorate General of Armaments referred the matter to the public prosecutor in application of article 40 of the Code of Criminal Procedure concerning the Forges de Tarbes, the only factory producing shells for Caesar cannons. Europlasma, in financial difficulty, indicated that it had been informed of this procedure through the press.

The industrial group affirmed on Friday evening that it was naturally available to the competent authorities to provide them with any useful information, specifying that it did not have any additional information to date. Europlasma takes note of the public declarations made on October 15, will study the consequences and will communicate as soon as possible.

This situation comes as Europlasma has significantly increased its losses in 2025 according to its annual results published in June. In April, the group announced that it was in exclusive negotiations with a French investor to sell its defense-related activities, including Forges de Tarbes, a national defense supplier which also owns Fonderie de Bretagne.
