A few hours before the 2027 budget arrived in the chamber, the government published, on Tuesday October 13, an annex to the finance bill indicating that the State has allocated 166 billion euros to public aid intended for businesses in 2024.

The unveiling of this data is a response to the request for transparency made by the Senate commission of inquiry into the use of public aid.

By its own calculations, the Senate commission of inquiry estimated this public aid at 211 billion for the year 2023 in the broad sense and at 108 billion in the strict sense.

The detailed figures include 27 billion euros in tax benefits (including 8 for the research tax credit), 24 billion euros in subsidies, particularly for the employment of apprentices or in support of renewable energies, and nearly 4 billion euros in financial aid, such as loan guarantees.
