The far-left British student organization Socialist Students is planning fifty demonstrations across the United Kingdom on November 20. Tens of thousands of students are expected as part of a European mobilization against military spending and cuts in education. This cross-Channel initiative follows the participation of young British activists in Parisian processions during a demonstration on Saturday October 17. The police failed to prevent them from marching in the French capital.
These young demonstrators denounce cuts in education, austerity and unemployment, inspired by the ongoing protests in France. Activists in London say they are very impressed by the French movement.
The organization is distributing a practical kit containing precise instructions for spreading the protest, including finding two or three comrades to launch the movement, setting a time to leave classes and distributing leaflets in front of the gates.
The guide also suggests creating a WhatsApp group, as well as preparing the signs and slogans.
