New restrictions on the speed at which some of Ukraine's weapons can travel and stay connected to the Starlink internet network have disrupted Ukraine's battlefield missions, a top adviser to President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned.
Starlink serves as a vital tool allowing Kyiv to effectively guide drones to Russian targets, protect Ukrainian skies, and enable interceptors to shoot down Russia's newly developed jet-propelled drones.
A source in the Ukrainian defence ministry stated that connectivity restrictions affecting speeds above 160 km/h were detected overnight, adding that the root cause of the issue is currently under investigation.
The development coincides with deadly overnight Russian missile and drone strikes that left at least 600,000 people across Ukraine without electricity, according to President Zelensky.
