Saudi Arabia's energy minister has vowed a serious response to deadly attacks on the kingdom's airports and oil and gas facilities by Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi movement.

Last Thursday, three Saudis, including a pilot for the national airline Saudia, were killed in two strikes on an airport facility and an aircraft on the ground.

Saturday's missile strike on Terminal 3 killed four Saudis, two Bangladeshis, one American, one Egyptian, one Jordanian, one Syrian, one Palestinian, one Sudanese, and one Indian. This followed a Houthi missile attack on another terminal a day earlier that killed 13 people and forced its closure.

Previously, the armed group hit Riyadh's international airport and another facility, killing 13 people in a significant escalation.

A Saudi-led coalition is providing air support for Yemeni pro-government forces battling the Houthis on Yemen's Red Sea coast and other areas.
