Several thousand demonstrators marched on Saturday between Place de la République and Place de Clichy, during a day punctuated by violence, degradation and clashes with the police in several cities in France.
Lorie, a retiree with shoulder-length hair, had this date marked in her diary for two months. “At their age, I did May-68, I failed my social worker school,” she says, clapping her hands.
All along the 3.6 kilometers of walk to the Place de Clichy, the end point of the route, the same anger and a multitude of fed-up could be heard.
