Jean-Michel Blanquer, the former Minister of National Education and the originator of the higher education admission platform, affirmed on Tuesday October 27 that Parcoursup was enormous progress compared to the previous situation. The former minister recalls that in 2017 in France there were 60% failures at the end of the first year of higher education.
This position comes as the government notably announced the gradual replacement of Parcoursup by 2028, placing the platform at the heart of strong criticism.
Jean-Michel Blanquer continues to defend Parcoursup which, according to him, represented progress for universities, while recognizing that the tool can now be improved.
