According to forecasts from the International Monetary Fund, Indian GDP is expected to exceed that of Japan and the United Kingdom next year.
This progression is explained in particular by strong domestic demand, unlike China, as well as by the use of Russian oil, which the country transforms and sometimes resells on the market. Experts explain that it is thanks to these emerging economies that Asia is getting by.
This economic trajectory comes at a time when the country is going through a political crisis, marked by major demonstrations which have occurred one after the other since last spring. A second crisis factor lies in a political battle led by the opposition, which demands the resignation of the president of the Electoral Commission.
