The municipality of Strasbourg wants to install security gates around the Christmas market in order to detect weapons and metal objects that visitors could carry.
For the moment, the town hall has not communicated either the number of gantries that will be installed or their cost. These questions will soon be studied by the organizing committee of the Strasbourg Christmas market.
Last year, this event welcomed more than 3 million visitors. As a reminder, the Strasbourg Christmas market was hit by an attack on December 11, 2018, which left five people dead and 11 injured.
