Following the incident, she was brought to the ferry dock where cardiopulmonary resuscitation was given before her transport to the medical clinic. Nathan Gregory described the loss of his childhood sweetheart of 22 years as unimaginable for their family.
The family emergency unfolded when the children were swept away, prompting Mrs Gregory to hold on to their son until he was rescued. According to her husband, she did not have the energy to save herself after keeping their son afloat.
Nathan Gregory has established a fundraising page for his sons and security following the tragic loss, writing on the page that she was a hero in both life and death.
"I will never get over this, she was my soulmate, my childhood sweetheart, my one and only,"Nathan Gregory said in a public statement describing her as the foundation of his entire family and the strength that held them all together."My boys had to witness something nobody should ever have to see of any age, but they know Mum died an absolute hero,"he added, noting that he is totally grateful for the fact his boys got out safely.
