Hundreds of thousands of people demonstrated again, Saturday October 24, to defend purchasing power and demand better public services. The Interior Ministry counted 410,000 demonstrators in the country on Saturday, compared to 550,000 a week earlier. For its part, the CGT counted 800,000 demonstrators, as many as on October 17, including 250,000 in Paris.
On October 17, 385 arrests had taken place at the same time.
In the capital, 142 people were arrested, including 120 taken into police custody, according to the police headquarters on Sunday morning.
