The authorities report a desire by certain groups to go to city centers. Numerous messages are also circulating on social networks to encourage the demonstrations to escalate.
To avoid a repeat of the violence that occurred on previous weekends, in particular on October 17, the prefects will not authorize processions in city centers. Gatherings will instead be held in peripheral areas, provided that the organizers have a security service to ensure security.
The Minister of the Interior expects a very high risk day on Saturday, particularly in the evening, with the concomitant Halloween holiday. To deal with this situation, 70,000 police officers and gendarmes will be mobilized throughout the country.
