Green MP Benjamin Lucas described the planned budgetary guidelines concerning the cuts to teaching positions as unacceptable, seeing them as a complete discrepancy with current high school demands, such as the request for additional resources and the repeal of Parcoursup.
He recognized the existence of a real demographic decline, while believing that there should not be a system which remains so unequal, and that other classes will still close during the following academic years according to these forecasts.
Édouard Geffray, for his part, responded that there will be no positions eliminated at the high school due to a demographic peak.
Furthermore, the national education budget in France is 13% lower than the average national education budget in OECD countries.
